The Banca Commerciale Italiana Trust Company was set up in order to expand BCI's activities, especially vis-à-vis the collection of deposits in the areas where large Italian émigré communities had settled. Boston was chosen as the new company's location so as to facilitate rapid, ongoing communications with the management of the nearby New York agency, thereby ensuring a common strategy and closer supervision. |
