description | Banca Commerciale Italiana held a 7.5% stake in Banque Tchadienne de Crédit et de Dépôts, which had been founded on 11 July 1962 by the Government of Chad and Credit Lyonnais. The goverment of Chad contributed 26 per cent of the capital, the Banque de Développemen du Tchad 25 per cent, the Crédit Lyonnais 34 per cent and the Deutsche Bank 2,5 per cent. The bank was forced to suspend its activities in 1979 due to the Chadian-Libyan conflict, resuming them only in 1983. |
