The Union Sénégalaise de Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie was a Senegalese joint stock company set up in 1961 with a capital of 690 million CFA francs, of which the Crédit Lyonnais retained 42,7 per cent and ceded 22,6 per cent to the Senegal Development Bank; in addition to these public shareholders, private groups of German, American and Italian nationality hold 4,3 per cent each of the capital. The Union Sénégalaise had three permanent branches in senegal, all in the capital, and two non-permanent ones.
