The Societe Nationale d'Investissement was formed in 1959 and reorganized with the help of the Bank Group. Its name was changed in 1973 to Banque de Developpement Economique de Tunisie (BDET). The purpose of BDET is to provide term financing for industry and tourism in Tunisia.
